Hams

Pastoral Hams: Australia’s most awarded hams

Available for pre-order (next 2 weeks)

IMPORTANT FOR MON-TUE HUBS: if Hams are not showing in Marketplace, go to Supplier Selection (left, below the product menu), and press submit.

Pastoral Hams are made from 100% Australian pork. The stock is raised on the prime banks of the Lachlan River in the Central West region of Cowra. Made from a recipe that hasn’t changed for over 20 years, its hams have won medals in 11 consecutive Royal Easter Shows and were voted Gourmet Travellers’ Best Christmas Ham.

All livestock is raised in Eco-Sheds that are temperature controlled for animal welfare. Animals are free to roam in and out of sheds. This minimises stress on animals and results in ultimately superior ham products.

Pastoral Hams follow a traditional process, with hams trimmed by master-trained butchers. The hams are then cured for two days and then smoked using birchwood. This infuses the hams with a subtle smoke taste.

Once this processing has been completed, each ham is then quality checked, and vacuum packaged to ensure hams keep in optimal condition. When packed, the hams have a use-by date of around mid-January.

Available as a 5-6kg Half Leg Bone-in ($98) or 4kg boneless ham ($89). These prices have hardly changed for the past 3 years. Orders are open for 2 week (until 14 November) only. Please check Box Divvy Marketplace (Chilled ➡️ Meat ➡️ Pork) for product details.

Puddings

The origins of the Adamstown Pudding Kitchen date back to 1971, when a church member turned to her grandmother’s pudding recipe to make a dessert for a church fundraiser, in thankfulness for her brother returning safely from the Vietnam War.

Since 1971 Adamstown Pudding Kitchen has been producing superb gourmet puddings famous for their moist consistency and full flavour. Produced to an old family recipe in a modern commercial kitchen, Adamstown Pudding Kitchen uses only the finest natural Australian ingredients, where possible. As a result of our tradition for quality products, our puddings have been recognised as one of Australia’s finest gourmet puddings.

Not only are these puddings delicious they are also excellent value. Profits from their sales are used by the Adamstown Uniting Church to support a range of welfare and community programs in Newcastle, Australia and overseas.
There’s a Pudding for everyone: Traditional, or vegan, paleo, gluten-free or Gourmet (for example, Double Choc Cherry, anyone?)

Community working together

Come on the journey with us

Unsupermarket

We're farmers and fed up with the way the food system currently operates.
Box Divvy ® connects your local community with farmers and food producers to provide market-fresh, locally and Australian-grown, seasonal fruit, vegetables and groceries helping you cook and eat better for less.
Our Mission is to provide quality food, pay farmers fairly and make fresh food available at extraordinary prices.
Working together with Western Sydney Diabetes Alliance we have created Box Divvy.

We're now over 15,000 families in NSW, ACT and VIC working together changing the food system. There is no food waste as produce is picked to order.
Want to know more how we work with our growers?
This explains Conventional/Sprayfree
                  *  Low food miles
                  *  No packaging
                  *  Reduce food waste
                  *  Lower your carbon footprint
    Seasonally, up to  70% is from local growers.

Fresh produce up to 30% cheaper than online supermarkets over the seasonal cycle on an average basket. Saving you some serious dough on food.
How do I order?

Ordering is easy! Just different. Box Divvy is OPT IN.

Your Hub ® is run by a neighbour we call a Hubster ®

First Join a Hub  you'll receive a welcome email with details on the ordering cycle and how to order. Your Hubster will phone you for a chat.

So join a Hub & order online with your group.

* Box Divvy price comparisons with the major two online supermarkets are based on a basket for that week. Box Divvy prices include a Hubster fee paid to the Hubster to run your Hub plus pack your groceries.

About our smart App??
To order you’ll be using the Box Divvy easy & smart ordering App and you'll be prompted to download this.

Our App sits safely within our website so it's not exposed to risk on App Stores.
You'll note also we have an SSL Security certificate daily updated on the site keeping your card details safe.
How can you do this so cheaply?
We're a Social Enterprise business meaning our goals go beyond profit. The Box Divvy Food Hubs in your neighbourhood that are run by a local family are community-owned and run as a home occupation side-gig, emphasising their commitment to sustainability, food security and healthy communities.  We are not subject to the tenuous nature of Grants like not-for-profit.

Profits are channelled back to reducing prices for members.
Transparent pricing
Note that we do not do 'loss leaders' which are items sold at cost or below cost. In the end the farmer pays for this resulting not being paid a fair price for their produce.
So, once you've joined a Hub and your ordering cycle is open you'll be in Marketplace. Click on the picture of the item and you'll see so much more information about the farmer and pricing. You will see what Box Divvy paid the farmer/wholesaler and what you the member are being charged. Really transparent.
What is so great about Box Divvy?
It saves you time, money and your health.
You don't need to search for a park, no trolleys, reduced packaging, lower food miles and no food waste as we pick to order. Plus Box Divvy offer nutritional rather than energy high foods.

Who runs my Food Hub?
A neighbour, known as a Hubster, runs your Food Hub and they offer you nutritionally high food rather than energy high processed food. They are your Food warrior changing the food system with your support.

Do I have to pay anything to join?
No fee to join.
Do I have to order each week?
Spaces are limited and it is expected you will order weekly or at least fortnightly.
Is a minimum spend required?
You are taking a space in the Hub so it is expected you will spend at least $15 a week on fresh and groceries. Over an 8 week period, even if you suspend then this expectation remains in place so $30 if you order fortnightly is the expectation.

What happens if I don't meet the minimum spend?
Within reason it's at the Hubster discretion what they set their expected spend to be in their Hub. If you've been taking a break suspend orders and let your Hubster know. If for a period of time maybe give the space to someone else and rejoin when you are going to order. The Hubster will be in contact if you are not ordering.
Are we just sharing boxes?
You can customise your individual order but in order to get the bulk buy discounts you might need to chip in to reach minimums on some items. For example, the Hub minimum for buk choi (Asian green) is 3 so your Hub must purchase at least 3. If it's at 2 you might want to add 1 to your order. Once the item is over the minimum required it's considered 'in play' and in the Hub order.
How to I pay for my order?
On registering for Box Divvy you will have put your card details in and there will be a validation of your card between 4 and 6 cents. A CREDIT or DEBIT card, Visa or Mastercard only. This information sits on the Eway Payment Gateway site.

We do not do AMEX or other cards. We do not do Pay Pal.
When your order is processed, at order cut-off, your card is charged. Make sure you have enough money in the account.
Manually reprocessing cards takes time and money. If your card declines regularly one of the admin team will be in contact and they have the authority to ask you to leave the Hub.

What? No Box Divvy Hub in your area?
Maybe someone you know wants to start a Box Divvy Hub. They earn good income. Depending on the size of their Hub they will need 4-6 hours a week. There is also no investment to start a Box Divvy Food Hub. Not a franchise.
